Dr.
Sathyavathi Muthu was recognized / honored
as one among the three members from India to
participate in the Asia - Africa seminar of solar cooker
leaders, by Solar Cookers International, Sacramento. USA
held at Nairobi, Kenya,
from 21 - 25th
February 2005.

Dr.
Chitra Prakash was awarded 'Sinthanai Sirpi' award by
Mother Teresa NGO jointly with Lions Club of Coimbatore
in March 2008.

Dr.
Sathyavathi Muthu rendered service as the elected
Executive member of the Home Science Association of
India till 2008.

Dr.
Chitra Prakash and Dr. A.Venmathi have been elected as
the vice president (Southern Region) and Executive
member of Home science Association of India respectively
for the period extending 2008 - 2011.

Dr. Visalakshi Rajeswari, S. , Professor,
attended the UGC sponsored Workshop on "Capacity
Building of Women Managers in Higher Education"
organized by the Centre for Women’s Studies,
Avinashilingam University for Women, Coimbatore from
14th Dec. to 18th Dec.,2009.

Dr. M. R. Thilakam, Associate Professor, won
the Seminar Scientist Award for her paper on
"Designing and Evaluating two portable Vermicompost
Devices and Assessing the Efficiency of Compost
prepared using different methods", presented in the
28th Biennial National Conference of the Home Science
Association of India, held at J. D. Birla Institute of
Home Science at Kolkota from 7th Jan. to 9th Jan.
2010. The award included a certificate, momento and a
cash of Rs.15,000/-.

Dr. A. Venmathi, Professor, was appointed as
Coordinator on 27th Jan. 2010 for Home Science in the
10th Conference of Tamil Congress to be held at
Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Thirunelveli from
21st May to 23rd May, 2010 of Thamizhaga Ariviyal
Peravai.

Chitra Prakash on "Microlevel Study of Ozone
Centrifugal Aerated Technology in Treating the Sewage
Water" won the Young Scientist Award which was
presented in the 28th Biennial National Conference of
the Home Science Association of India held at J. D.
Birla Institute of Home Science at Kolkata from 7th
Jan. to 9th Jan. 2010
