Current Awareness Service

 The new books are displayed in the display racks. The wrappers or jackets of the latest additions are displayed in the Notice Board.

 Selective Dissemination of Information

  SDI is provided manually to limited extent based on the requirement.

 Reference Service

The library assists readers in finding information in the library books and journals, in preparing bibliographies, in guiding readers generally in the most efficient use of the library’s resources and facilities. 

 Newspaper Clipping Service

The newspaper clipping from 7 dailies on various subjects are made available to readers for reference.  

Display Services

Special displays are arranged on important events in the main reading hall.    

Orientation Services

           Library organizes orientation programme for freshers in cooperation with university programmes for their groups. Library instruction is provided for small groups emphasizing on the effective use of services, facilities and resources available in the library.

 Students Service Centre

This centre facilitates the development of effective academic learning and performance skills in students. It also helps the students to develop research skills, languages skills and assists them to become successful and independent leaders.

 Besides these traditional services, library also offers important electronic services like

OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue)

The complete database of the library documents is available electronically (Online Public Access Catalogue) which allows the user to search on author, title, subject, keywords and accession number.  

Electronic Gate Register

Reader’s library identity cards are scanned at the entrance and exit points. It enables to get the exact number of readers using the library at a particular time. This also provides additional security. 

Multimedia Center

This newly formed center through its components such as graphics, animation and sound increases the learning process through visualisation.

Latest arrivals of books are displayed electronically every week.

 Important announcements from the staff assembly are made available electronically.

 Photocopying Service

 A photocopying service is available for books and periodicals in the library on a payment basis. This service makes it possible for users to obtain permanent copies of library materials. Photocopying should be made in compliance with the copyright ordinance.
