•    The English Association organizes workshops, seminars, guest lectures and competitions from time to time to help the students to tune themselves to the latest developments in the field of English Literature.

• The staff members of the department contribute their expertise to other colleges and universities as members of Board of Studies, Staff Selection Committee, Question Paper Setters and Examiners. 

•  In-charge of the University Newsletter and "New Horizons"- the University Magazine

•  Under NSS and CSS which are curriculum-integrated programmes, several need based programmes on sensitizing the community regarding social evils, welfare of women and children, social and legal rights, voters rights and responsibilities, coaching classes for school children and drop-outs, free medical check-ups, and health and nutrition education are conducted with the help of a programme officer and an assistant programme officer.

Remedial Teaching

The Department is actively involved in providing special coaching for the slow-learners. A comprehensive practice module comprising of drilling sessions, tests and assignments is given to the students with adequate guidance, advice and encouragement.
