The Department of Economics is a full fledged department in the sense that it offers Undergraduate, Post graduate and Research Programmes at M.Phil and Ph.D levels. The undergraduate Programme B.A. Economics was inaugurated in 1958-59. M.A. Economics was started in 1976-77. M.Phil and Ph.D courses were inaugurated in 1988-89. M.Sc five year integrated course was started in 1994-95.
